I love this for you! Also as usual, some will be angry or jealous you get to live the dream. Shake it off, keep that block button on standby, and go go go. From a digital marketing perspective you are positioned for success and those of us with a soul want you to reach that SF goal!
Haha yeah, people are always so weird when others have success. You can tell who feels entitled themselves, and I think entitlement is the least attractive human trait xD I just thought it'd be nice for people to see more transparently how difficult it is!
Absolutely! I think it's a really helpful/fun breakdown. Plus, the users who want this for you the most are going to be found in substack and subscribers. As a side note, I was trying to estimate and do the math in my head as you were tweeting sub numbers and shitposter dreams - so this really scratched an itch like you wouldn't beleive xD.
It’d be nice for people to transparently see how difficult everything can be. The opposite of Instagram is what we need. Thanks for sharing, there is a lot of power in this kind of honesty. I feel like if you keep doing this, you’ll blow your own calculations out of the water. x
Yeah it’s something I saw people who ran Airbnbs do and I really appreciated the honest ones (rather than the instagram style ones that made it seem like it was free money and no work)!
It also extends to just admitting that anything is hard, ever, like anxiety.
It’s like the difference between your checklist “get out of bed, shower, 💩” and ig reels where showing what someone accomplishes between the hours of 430 am and 730 am “journals, reads, laundry, cleans the whole house, workout, etc” (I’ve added it up- it seems sometimes impossible)
And I’m like “Wow I lie in bed battling existential dread in my mind for at least an every morning- I must suck.”
It’s refreshing to see an unfiltered, real version of influencer.
Your content is great I’m glad I’m a paid sub on here and twitter I think it’s worth it with the fun/ informative content you produce. I’d even consider paying a bit more for both if you’d be comfortable moving both prices up. No I don’t make much but I’m not gonna be rich making as much as I do so might as well spread the wealth.
I’ve always wanted to create on twitter and I do occasionally post on YouTube but if I could make half as much as you do on Substack I could live comfortably in Oklahoma. (I make an $400/w with my invoicing job). Any tips to grow a Substack with low followers?
And lastly, I struggle with anxiety pretty bad. I can’t socialize at all really because small talk doesn’t really make since to me tbh. I don’t go out, and miss any public family event. Only place I can go is to a baseball stadium and that’s because it’s the best place in the world to me. I know I need to do uncomfortable things to get out of this anxiety spell but I haven’t found a way to go about it.
I partially made this article to help give a baseline - this is what I can do when advertising to a 2.15 million person Twitter following that I cultivated over the course of 3 years or so. I think it's really really hard to grow these things...
My advice would generally be to find your niche, your voice, and your audience, and perhaps it could catch on.
That article has given me an idea alreayd sometimes you’d just need to read to find out. I was already in the works on making something about the A’s owner in baseball this could start it off :).
( I have a Substack post on this account but it’s more self help. Not sure if I should leave this one as personal or if I should just Delete that post and start on the other thing)

I’ll check it out. Thanks for the help billiam! Gonna read it right now.
this is dope af bro!! 🔥 if you start a podcast or music bro I could help mix songs or edit the podcast if you ever need it 🙂
That’d be fun! It might be something where I just interview subscribers or something more low key since it’s gated content
Vocalist here, I might be sht so be prepared 🤣🤣 do a cool jingle instead of lame 😏 get feedback from subscribers
that definitely be awesome! 🔥

much appreciated 🙏❤️
I think it's great that you're sharing like this, many of us are no strangers to anxiety and how that can hold us back.
You have numerous talents and it's quite possible one of your side hustles is going to take the lead sooner or later.
We're cheering for you.
Very kind thank you!

Me too! Sometimes songs i make up are so loud in my head I think they’re actually playing. Sometimes they’re ripoffs of other songs 🤣
